Do you seek a better understanding of yourself and others?

Can you remember an event that significantly changed or influenced your life?

How would beginning the work of healing through self-awareness create positive change?

Self-awareness leads to self-reflection, allowing us to better understand ourselves. It allows us to gauge our emotions, character, and skills. As we consider our past, examine why we continue to live the same patterns over and over, we can begin to better understand our own role. We can begin to explore our experiences without blame and ask ourselves difficult questions, but with kindness. We can release the anger, judgement, and fear for ourselves, and perhaps, even of others.

Healing, I am learning, is about feeling. Allowing the pain to come. The pain we feel shows us the parts of ourselves that are hurting or broken so that we may give those parts the attention they need to heal. It is messy. It is learning to hold space for ourselves as we would achild who is heartbroken. Healing and true recovery is a journey.
